Red Transit Consultants, LLC allows for transferring licenses between computers once per year in the event of:
- Employee no longer works at company, need to transfer to another employee / computer
- Computer failure of some sort
- New computer purchased to replace the old computer.
To transfer a standalone license from one computer to another, you will need the following:
- Old computer name
- Remove license from old computer and uninstall the product or wipe the computer
To locate the location of the old license, please do the following:
1. AutoCAD Civil 3D can remain open. Go to Registry Editor.
2. Browse to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager
3. Check for key: “FLEXRTC_LICENSE_FILE”
4. Note the path stored on the key. This is where the license will reside, please delete the license.Uninstall the Product from the Control Panel's Program -> Uninstall a Program.
- New computer name
- New computer Mac address
On the new computer, if not already done, install the product. The latest app installers can be found at the following website:
Email support@redtransitconsultants.com with the old computer name at a minimum in order to authorize transfer.
Support can perform the transfer for you or give you access to perform the transfer on your own.
Authorized to Transfer
Once authorized to transfer, follow the steps below:
- Login through the account portal using an email address you have on file with our licensing database.

2. Locate the product in your account and click the '+' sign to expand and see the existing licenses.
3. Review the licenses and find which license is available for Transfer. Click Transfer License to begin.
4. Follow the dialog to fill out the required information and click Perform Transfer once complete. An email will be sent when the license is ready and you'll also be able to Download the license from the account.
Note: Licenses can only be transferred to their 'like' type. If you wish to transfer between Standalone and Network vice versa, you must contact support.
