Change License Type

Standalone License to Network License

To switch a computer from Standalone Licensing to Network licensing, you will need to do the following:

1. AutoCAD / Civil 3D may remain open.
2. Go to Registry Editor.
3. Browse to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager
4. Click on the key: “FLEXRTC_LICENSE_FILE”
5. For the value, you will need to set this to the "Port@ServerName" format used for other computers to connect to the license. (ie: 27010@MyServer)
6. Test the app in AutoCAD / Civil 3D

Network License to Standalone License

To switch a computer from Network Licensing to Standalone licensing, you will need to do the following:

1. AutoCAD / Civil 3D may remain open.
2. Obtain your Standalone license and save to a safe place on the computer where it will not be deleted.
3. Go to Registry Editor.
4. Browse to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager
5. Click on the key: “FLEXRTC_LICENSE_FILE”
6. For the value, enter the full path to the license file where it was saved on your computer. You do not need to include the file name.
7. Test the app in AutoCAD / Civil 3D
